NASA's Historic Starliner Mission Set for Launch
Mission Details
Liftoff Scheduled for Monday
NASA has announced the launch schedule for Boeing's historic Starliner mission, which will carry two astronauts to the International Space Station. The launch is scheduled for no earlier than Monday, with a backup launch opportunity on Thursday. The launch will mark the first crewed flight for Boeing's Starliner spacecraft.
Mission Objectives
The Starliner mission will test the spacecraft's ability to safely carry astronauts to and from the International Space Station. The astronauts will conduct a series of experiments and tests during their stay on the space station, and they will also perform maintenance tasks.
Launch Preparations
The launch campaign for the Starliner mission began 45 days before liftoff when United Launch Alliance began stacking an Atlas V rocket at Space Launch Complex 41. The rocket is now complete and ready for launch. The weather is currently 90 percent favorable for launch on Monday.
